| Track meets will be held either at Chatsworth High School or at a High School or College track facility in the area. See the Meet Schedule for details. All meets will start promptly at 8:30 AM unless other wise noted in advance and will continue until all events are completed.
The duration of each meet will vary slightly depending on the number of athletes competing. It is safe to assume that an average meet will end by 2:30 PM under most conditions. Larger meets, such as the League and Open Finals and the Invitational, attract more athletes and will take longer. Depending upon which events an athlete is competing in, he or she will not be required to stay through the entire meet. If their events have completed, they are free to go, or stay and cheer on the rest of the team. Track meets have a festival-like atmosphere that is unlike any other sporting event. Umbrellas and tents can be set up in the stands or sometimes in the infield (depending on the location) and provide a great setting for a family picnic. |
